The Gettysburg 19th Century Base Ball Festival will take fans back in time to 1864 to see what base ball (two words) was like in the tiny town of Gettysburg right before the battle changed the town forever. This event shows a different side of Gettysburg, the civilian side, and draws thousands each year to the event. All kinds of ancillary events take place around the tournament.
The 2014 festival took place on July 19-20,2014. The 2014 edition was the largest yet with 18 clubs competing in the two day event. The Festival has quickly become one of the finest in vintage base ball. The festival is held at Schroeder Farm on 965 Pumping Station Road the site of the filming of the movie Gettysburg as well several battle re-enactments of the last 10 years.
Can’t wait to see you there!
